Winter & Spring Season
After our extended summer season ends, the Playhouse continues with additional performances and events from November through May. Listed below are the mainstays of the “off-season”.
Acting 101: A fun introduction to acting, led by MJ Bruder Munafo. No experience required.
Arnie’s Poetry Café: Named in loving memory of the late, great MV Poet Laureate emeritus Arnie Reisman, who hosted Vineyard poets at the Playhouse’s Poetry Café since 2014. The Poetry Café returns in 2022 – monthly on a Wednesday night from January through April. Each month will feature a guest host and three other poets.
Monday Night Movies: From November through March we present a diverse selection of classic movies. Interesting insights provided by movie aficionado and co-curator Jamie Alley.
Shakespeare for the Masses: Lively interpretations by Chelsea McCarthy and Nicole Galland condense a full length play into a short romp with lots of comedic antics. Both the cast and audience share a great time!
Show Biz Trivia: Writer and performer Jenny Allen hosts our second virtual season of trivia, with participants from all over the country. It’s fun, it’s free, and there are prizes for both high and low scorers. Actress Mona Hennessy will co-host. Join us on Zoom!
Spring Solo Shows: During the month of May, we present a lineup of superb solo performers on the Patricia Neal Stage. Each show is different, but every actor shares their stories in often humorous, and always heartfelt, ways.
Wicked Good Musical Revue: Talented and enthusiastic musicians and singers perform a selection of mostly Broadway songs led by musical directors Molly Conole and David Behnke. Sure to warm up the coldest winter evening!
Wintertime Melodies: A casual musical cabaret performed by Shelagh Hackett and Paul Munafo.
