L.A. Brown – A Simple Truth

Discovery is the essence of why I photograph. Magic happens in the very moment of shooting; when I know I have all the parts in place I take the picture. Learning how to see is a crucial aspect of this form. The positive and negative space and their relationship to the edges, to the subject and to the viewer. There are actually times when I walk around a scene and have my camera up to my eye, thinking this is great, I look and look and yet what I thought was there, is not. I do not click. I am not interested in making photographs after the fact. For me it all happens in camera in the very moment of click.

Heidi Drew & Judith Drew Schubert – Birds of a Feather
September 1 - September 21, 2017
This spring, Judith succumbed to her love of shore birds and begun to study, in painting, these shoreline residents. Portraits of the ever-present and comical cormorants are the first in this series. The bird study culminates in this joint show with her cousin, Heidi Drew. Judith’s 2017 body of work is titled “Cows, Coves and Cormorants”.
