EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS and PRODUCTIONS for YOUNG THEATER LOVERS
Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse is committed to working with children; both educating and entertaining them! See below for our key offerings for children of all ages! Click on the title of each program for more details.
Due to the pandemic, we are not holding Summer Stars Children’s Theater Camp this year. Virtual Stars is a free, creative, inclusive once-a-week program on Wednesdays during the summer, filled with virtual theater fun. Open to all Island children and children with Vineyard connections, ages 8-14, with or without theater experience.
Summer Stars Theater Arts Camp
Summer Stars is for ages 9 – 14. The camp is held at the Playhouse at 24 Church Street in downtown Vineyard Haven from 9 am until 1 pm, Monday through Friday.
The Fabulists: Theater for Children
A rollicking troupe of dedicated adult actors and writers perform witty adaptations and original scripts, incorporating improvisation and lots of audience participation! Outdoors at the Tisbury Amphitheater, Saturdays at 10 am during July and August. The performance is canceled, only if it is raining at showtime. Perfect for the whole family, from newborns to grandparents!
Winter Stars After School Program
WINTER STARS is MV Playhouse’s after-school theater program for kids. The program is a fun exploration of all things theater, with special focus on developing performance skills and working together. Artistic Director MJ Bruder Munafo directs the program. Weekly activities include theater games, movement exercises, scene study, and much more! The program is open to all island children in grades 3 to 9, with or without theater experience.
Theater Fun for Adults of All Ages. Beginners welcome. Led by Playhouse artistic director MJ Bruder Munafo, along with guest actors.
