Tuscany, along with Piedmont, is one of Italy’s most important wine regions. Gorgeous scenery and cultural attractions are what first draw visitors to Tuscany. But when those visitors experience Tuscan wines, many return to explore the region’s magnificent vinous offerings. For this tasting we will focus on wines made from sangiovese in in Montalcino, Montepulciano, and Chianti Classico. While they all share the same grape variety, each region’s soils and climate ensure its wines express a unique personality.

For 15 years the Peter H. Luce Play Readers have been meeting every Wednesday at the Vineyard Haven Senior Center from 9 a.m. to noon to read plays of every era and of every genre, from Shakespeare to Shaw, Neil Simon to Ibsen and Albee. And then on rare occasions the group goes public and invites a crowd to come hear them read.

As a young girl In Texas, Monica Rizzio barrel-raced on Pleasant Valley Ranch long before she had ever seen the ocean. When she migrated east and crossed the iconic bridges of Cape Cod in 2004, she instantly became the Washashore Cowgirl.
