In Morning Pages, Kate Feiffer’s first novel for adults, Elise Hellman is a playwright trying to revive her once-successful career. Deja New is the title of the comedic play she is working on, and scenes from the play are throughout the book. Deja New is about a 40-year-old single woman whose long-divorced parents unexpectedly move in with her. This is a reading of that play.

Cut It Out is a new drama about artificial intelligence that explores the darker side of human-A.I. relationships. As the boundaries between free will and algorithmic control blur, a widow’s grief and a scientist’s obsession collide in a desperate search for truth. The play asks the question: “what happens when our deepest emotions are manipulated by forces beyond our control?” Join us for a thought-provoking reading of Cut It Out, where the lines between human and machine are tested, and the true cost of playing god is revealed.
