If only they could figure out how far they are from home… Mark Twain’s satirical account of his two-week stint fighting in the Civil War is freshly reimagined in Allison Snyder’s hilarious and insightful new play. Allison Snyder (Playwright)
Allison Snyder is a playwright from New York City. Her work has been developed at HERE Arts Center, Middle Voice at Rattlestick Theater and Dixon Place. She has been an artist-in-residence at Access Theater and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Allison is a recipient of Stpehen Sonheim's Young Playwrights Award and has been a finalist for The Orchard Project's Greenhouse Residency. She holds a B.A. in Theater and History from Sarah Lawrence College and is an alum of the National Theater Institute. Allison is also a third grade teacher. She is beyond thrilled to be working at Martha's Vineyard Playhouse this summer!
Michael Herwitz (Director)
Michael Herwitz is a New York-based director and producer of new plays and musicals. He has developed and staged new work at SoHo Playhouse, HERE Arts Center, Ensemble Studio Theater, The Flea, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Lifeworld, IRT Theater and the Pasadena Playhouse. This Fall, he will stage the Off-Broadway premiere of JOB by Max Friedlich. Michael is currently an Associate General Manager at Evan Bernardin Productions where he guides Off-Broadway productions, national tours, and readings from ideation through final performance and beyond. His education spans Northwestern University to LaGuardia Arts to watching countless movie musicals as a kid. Collaborating with his dear friend Allison Snyder and this merry band of actors and friends on Martha’s Vineyard is beyond his wildest dreams. www.michaelherwitz.com.
