Holly St. John Bergon
Holly St. John Bergon has published poems in The Sewanee Review, Cutthroat: A Journal of the Arts, Ploughshares, Terra Nova, College English, ISLE: as in Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and the Environment, and elsewhere. With her husband Frank Bergon, she has published translations of the Spanish poets Antonio Gamaneda, José Ovejero, Xavier Queipo, and Violeta C. Rangel in New European Poets and The European Constitution in Verse. For many years, she taught courses in English composition, modern poetry, and creative writing at the State University of New York-Duchess Community College. She lives in Oak Bluffs.
Clark Myers
Clark Myers is active in the poetry community on Martha's Vineyard and has been published both locally and regionally. His poem "Priester's Pond" was featured on WCAI's Poetry Sunday this past Spring. He lives with his wife and two children in Vineyard Haven. And like our previous readers tonight, along with your host, Clark is a member of the Cleaveland House Poets.
Fan Ogilvie
Fan and Justen Ahren’s have curated and coordinated The Summer Festival of Poetry at Featherstone for over ten years. It includes national and local poets. Summer of 2019 greeted the return of Billy Collins. In 2008 Fan published “YOU" selected poems and "KNOT: A LIFE. In 2016 " EASINESSES FOUND" poems and paintings was published. It received special recognition from the Washington Independent Review of Poetry and Grace Cavieleri, creator of the Poet and the Poem series. Fan taught English and poetry in Washington, DC, New Haven, CT, New York City, NY, and Martha's Vineyard, MA. She was selected to be the 2nd Poet Laureate of West Tisbury. She worked three years at the Dukes County House of Correction, where she published two volumes of poetry by the inmates. She is now facilitator of the Cleaveland House Poetry Workshop, the oldest continuous poetry group in the USA. Fan, also a painter, had a one person show at Featherstone Center for the Arts, and at The Free Library of West Tisbury, and the Chilmark Library. Fan and Arnie Reisman co edited a collection of Judith Neeld’s poetry 2019 . Her work has been celebrated many times on the Vineyard.
Brooks Robards
Brooks Robards spends four months of the year in Oak Bluffs. She’s authored 15 books, including four collections of Vineyard poetry, and writes features as well as movie and art reviews for Island newspapers. Her most recent Island poetry collection is “On Island,” with images by Hermine Hull.
