Laura Roosevelt

Laura Roosevelt is a journalist, photographer and poet who lives in West Tisbury. Her poems have been published in a few small literary journals and have twice won the “Best Of” award for poetry at the Eckerd College Writers- in-Paradise Conference. Several years ago, she was one of five winners of a local poetry competition that resulted in the publication of a chapbook entitled “Island Quintet.”

Steve Ewing

Steve Ewing is a dock builder living in Edgartown with his wife Claudia. They have two grown sons, Niko and Arno. Steve has been and still is the Town of Edgartown's first poet laureate. He is the author of a new book "Town Meeting Poems".

Barbara Peckham

Barbara Peckham has been a secretary, editor of the Society and Woman’s page of the New Haven Journal Courier in Connecticut, radio and television commercial writer in Albany, NY, and teacher of fifth grade for 24 years in Marcellus, NY, near Syracuse. She began writing in earnest after she and her husband retired to Martha’s Vineyard. She has two poetry books out, “A Jar of Summer”, and “Sing Spring”. At present Barbara is working on a novel, “Forgottten But Not Gone”. She has three children, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Don McLagan

Don McLagan is an entrepreneur and poet. An innovator of business information services for forty years, he is now retired and advises entrepreneurial CEOs. He writes poetry with the Concord Poetry Center and the Edgartown Poets Collective, and has published a book of poetry, “Tug at the Knot.” Don has a B.S. and B.S.M.E. degrees from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and an MBA from Harvard Business School (1967).

Georgia Morris

Georgia Morris is a writer of poems, plays, fiction and documentary films. Thirty years ago she moved to the Vineyard as a partner in Galen Films with her husband, Len, written plays and fiction, raised their two kids, Sam and Lily, co-founded the 4 th Grade Theater Project with MJ at the Playhouse and has always kept her secret life of poetry brewing.

Michael G.West

Michael G. West, graduate of Williams College and the Johns Hopkins Writing Seminars, is a poet and the author of several novels, including the Tommy Shakespear Mystery Thriller series and the Martha’s Vineyard EcoThriller trilogy, featuring Sam Hill. Most recently, he has published a new book of poems, When Stuff Is Not Enough and a novel, The Five-Headed Dragon. He has worked as a dishwasher, short-order cook, housepainter, shingler, sheetrock taper, private tutor, taxi driver, college professor, freelance book editor, computer programmer, industry analyst and strategy consultant. He lives year-round on Martha’s Vineyard.
